Mission Statement
We aim to share our lives in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to set captives free.
Vision Statement
903 Community Church exists to fulfill the Great Commission and Great Commandment.
Core Values
Our core values are the things that are most important to us. Our mission statement is built upon them.
The Bible is very clear for the New Testament Church; there is no such thing as a
part-time minister of the Gospel. If a person is a born-again believer, they are on
full-time mission for the purpose of furthering the Gospel. Christians are to view
their family, job, hobbies, neighbors, extended family, and anywhere they find
themselves as their mission field.
- We believe God has distinctly created every individual for ministry, and the Lord
does not waste anything.
- Every believer a specific S.H.A.P.E. for ministry: Spiritual Gift, Heart/Passion, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences.
- New Testament Christians are not urged to simply stop sinning, but to live wisely; to be able to discern what is best, so that our lives will be living examples to the Gospel.
- We believe the Lord has given Christians 3 sources for wisdom: the Holy Spirit testifying truth to the individual, the Written Word pointing us to the Living Word alive in us, a local Church Family through which the Lord chooses to speak truth to one another.
- The Holy Spirit is alive in all born-again Christians. It speaks truth to believers for direction and wise living and to conform them to the image of the Son.
- God has given us His Written Word for the purpose of testifying to the Living Word alive in us. We take God’s Word very seriously and view it as a constant and ever living source for truth and Godly living. This is why we are committed to expository preaching. We feel that is one of the most important roles of the pastor, to present and teach the Bible to the congregation.
- The Bible is not just God’s instruction booklet or a roadmap for living. It testifies to Jesus, the Living Word.
- God’s design is for us to do life together; is has never been good for anyone to be alone. We believe that we are called to be in community and fellowship with one another; it is not just me and Jesus.
- We are not created to bear life’s burdens alone. We are designed to work together (my strengths and your weaknesses may complement one another perfectly). We share in one another’s victories as well as carry one another’s burdens along the way.
- The New Testament Church is never urged to make Christians or make converts; but is exhorted to make disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a core value that every member be on mission to make disciples that will make disciples. That every member have a Paul speaking truth in their lives, every member have a Timothy that they are speaking truth into, and have a Silas that they are walking alongside in the everyday.
- Jesus was very clear on this; one of His primary purposes was to “set the captives free”. What does this mean? It means that the Gospel offers not only forgiveness for sins, but also healing from those sins.
- We strongly believe that it is God’s plan that every church member has a story of redemption; from hurting into healing. These stories may be complete, or they may be in process.
Beliefs
-
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without
error, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has
supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice.
-
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
-
We believe in God, the Father; infinite personal and perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of all people, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
-
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession, and eventual return.
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came worth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and seal all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit indwells in every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.
-
We believe that the Gospel is the ultimate good news: mankind has the means to a restored relationship with God by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone; that His life, crucifixion, and resurrection have already atoned for the sins of and imputed righteousness upon the elect, broken the power of sin, and overcome death. The Gospel is Christological, centering on the cross and resurrection: The Gospel is not proclaimed if Christ and His death and resurrection are not proclaimed.
-
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the universal church; a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons (both present and past) are members.
- We believe in the local church; consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. The Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service.
-
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the Triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administers until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
We believe in the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.
