Sunday Worship

We would love for you to join us!

Our Sunday morning service is a very purposeful time for us. We always focus on the communal aspect of worshipping the Lord together and sitting underneath the teaching of Living Word of God.

We usually start with a worship time of about 20-25 minutes followed by Biblical preaching. The service starts at 10:00am and we are usually done around 11:15am.

Our music aims to be simple and authentic and would be considered contemporary style. We believe that the Lord provides His church with exactly what they are supposed to be, so for now we have guitar, bass and drums; our most important instrument is our congregation singing!

During our worship you will see people standing and singing; some raising their hands; some sitting; and those are all ok. We consider the content and object of our worship to be more important than the style; the WHO is more important to us than the HOW.

You are free to wear whatever you wish. We want you to feel like yourself when you walk in. If that is a suit and tie, then suit up! If you are more of sandals and shorts; that’s wonderful. We just want you to be you. Most people wear jeans and a casual shirt, but that also changes with the weather.

We currently have childcare for up to age 10.
We have three classrooms:

  • nursery (ages 0-2)
  • toddlers (ages 2-5)
  • kids (ages 5-10).

Absolutely! We know that some kids love being in “big church” with mom or dad and we welcome that!

You will never be put on the spot; we want you to feel at home. You won’t be asked to stand while we remain seated. You won’t be asked to remain seated while we stand. You won’t be asked to put on a special visitor tag. You will not be asked to give money or anything else.

After your visit, if you want us to contact you, we have a communication card that you can fill out with your contact information. You can give us as much or as little info as you like.

Great question! There are several groups that are coming to the table to labor for this new plant:

  • The BGCT: Baptist General Convention of Texas
  • SBA: Smith Baptist Association
  • Our Sponsor Church: Bullard Southern Baptist Church
  • Various supporting churches/individuals
  • Our Launch Team: Consisting of our Core Group, Financial Partners, and Prayer Team.
That seems to be a lot of people, but this is a group effort and we need all the help we can get!

The lead pastor is a man named Russell McLennan. He has been married since 2007 to his wife Kinzey, and they have two sweet daughters. Russell has over 15 years of ministry experience at different churches in Texas and holds a M.A. from Dallas Theological Seminary. He was ordained in the Baptist Church in 2010. Russell is very serious about true Biblical community and learning/teaching the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

His role at the church will be a bi-vocational pastorate. As a job, he will continue to be a residential remodeler, General Contractor and trim carpenter. He is often seen brushing saw dust out of his beard and wearing a kilt competing at different Scottish Highland Games.

We don’t necessarily have a “target audience” in mind as if we are looking to sell widgets to a certain demographic. Our job is not to grow the church; the Lord can and will grow His church. Instead, we are simply looking to be the people that the Lord has called us to be while making disciples, and whoever the Lord calls along the way is welcome to join us. The only stipulation is there are no perfect people allowed.

We believe in the power of a testimony and the Lord works greatest in our weaknesses, thus we love and look for stories of redemption from difficulties and sinful pasts. I suppose our target audience would be the weak and weary and heavy laden who are looking for rest...maybe the “over-churched” of our culture.

That is a great question! The global Church is a living breathing organism that is always growing and changing. This growth can take many different forms and look many different ways, much like there are many different local congregations; different images of the same Church.

We believe that in every generation there are different ways with which to reach people with the same message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; many times those different ways are in the form of new churches being born.

Our goal is not to grow numerically in order to create a giant “globo-church” one day. Our goal is to be a church that makes disciples that make disciples. This means that over time we are constantly building up and sending out disciples of Jesus, as well as building up and growing new churches all over.
We want to be a church that recreates and is always looking outward.
